Shelf Engine
Shelf Engine’s demand forecasting platform utilizes artificial intelligence to replace the buyer by automating ordering, predicting the ideal order, and guaranteeing sales. This significantly reduces food waste – a $200B issue in the industry – and optimizes profit margin through intelligent forecasting and machine learning.
CDV’s current pilot of Shelf Engine is successfully running at multiple locations, making a significant impact on profit margin and reducing food waste. Collaborating with the grab-and-go categories of Compass’ procurement and retail arms, the startup is delivering strong results in foodservice.
Kitchen Robotics
Kitchen Robotics’ Beastro is a fully programmable and personalized foodservice robot that prepares full meals. Using an extensive cloud-based operating system powered by artificial intelligence, Beastro offers consistency in food preparation as well as efficiency in throughput that is compatible with a dark kitchen setting.
The Kitchen Robotics team has worked alongside Compass chefs to enhance recipes, as well as food safety compliances. The successful completion of the pilot project has given Beastro the option to be deployed to customer-facing locations across various Compass environments.
Standard AI
Standard AI is a frontrunner in machine vision and AI-powered frictionless retail technology. Their autonomous checkout technology makes it possible for customers to shop and pay without waiting in line or scanning items, allowing for greater profit margins, and a better customer experience. It’s a low-cost and scalable solution in the modern frictionless retail landscape.
After the successful completion of the initial pilot at various sites, CDV has identified hundreds of Compass locations to continue scaling operations alongside our C-store markets across different verticals.
EAT Club
Inspired by delivery systems in Asia, EAT Club was founded with a hunger to solve the office meal problem in the United States. Their foodservice technology platform makes it easy for businesses and institutions to offer individualized office meal experiences at scale with an innovative virtual cafeteria experience.
As part of Compass Group’s acquisition of EAT Club, the technology will extend across Compass’ large portfolio of clients in the business and industry, education, and healthcare divisions – enabling individually ordered and packaged meals to be aggregated into one synchronized delivery.
